NCCI pair checker
Enter two procedure codes to see whether Medicare's National Correct Coding Initiative bundles them. The checker reads the 2026 Q4 practitioner PTP table (version 32.3, effective October 1, 2026) - 1,731,212 active edits - in your browser. No pair pages, no sign-up: the verdict for any combination is computed here.
How PTP edits work
Every PTP edit pairs a Column 1 (comprehensive) code with a Column 2 (component) code. Billed together for the same patient on the same date of service, the Column 2 code is denied as bundled into the Column 1 code. The edit's modifier indicator decides whether documentation can separate them: indicator 1 means an NCCI-associated modifier (59, XE, XS, XP, XU and their kin) may bypass the edit for a genuinely distinct service; indicator 0 means no modifier ever bypasses it.
What this checker does not cover
- The hospital outpatient (OPPS) PTP table differs from the practitioner table; a pair that passes here can still bundle on a facility claim.
- Medicaid programs run their own NCCI files.
- Passing the checker is not a promise of payment: MUE unit caps (shown with each verdict), medical necessity, documentation and payer policy still apply.
